Studio B Rewind - Studio B Rewind - WNCW's Studio B has been a happening place, serving as the setting for nearly 3000 live performances. Some of the biggest names in music have performed there, including Doc Watson, Emmylou Harris, Jorma Kaukonen, John Mayer, the Del McCoury Band, Gillian Welch, and the Zombies. Our region's best performers have also been frequent visitors, like Tyler Ramsey, Michael Reno Harrell, Free Planet Radio, David Childers, stephaniesid, and more. During Studio B Rewind, we'll be mining our extensive Studio B archives and re-broadcasting the best performances and interviews. Paul Foster hosts and produces this feature which airs Thursday mornings at 8:51 AM.

The Tall Grass - A show featuring music from the roots up. We explore the progressive side, spotlighting the music that reaches beyond traditional Bluegrass music. Plus we get into music from the younger generation of pickers adding their feelings and flavor to our roots music traditions. Hosted by Joe Greene, this eclectic mix airs Sundays from 6 to 7pm
 
Rhythm Theorem - Funk, R&B, Acid Jazz and dancefloor grooves galore served up by host Scotty Robertson. The Rhythm Theorem airs on Friday nights from 10 p.m. to midnight and Thursday mornings from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.
 
Culture Caravan - Culture Caravan features music ranging from Afro Beat to Bossa Nova and everything in between! Get your weekly dose of music from around the world as we visit classic artists who have made a permanent mark on the world music scene, and discover new ones, too. Host Nate Tadlock will also highlight regional artists who are blending international sounds with their own kind of music.
 
20/21 - Tuesday nights at 8pm, WNCW presents 20/21, the show that explores musical connections between the 20th century and the 21st. Host Kevin Washington hosts the show where current WNCW artists play alongside their influences, showcasing notable producers’ works over the past and current century, and featuring tunes from musical families over the decades and more themes that are common threads through the decades.

ARC Overnight - ARC stands for Alternative Radio Coalition, which an ambitious group of radio enthusiasts from Charlotte began in 1992. Their mission continues to this day with anchor host Rob Daves and an array of volunteers spinning a mix that embraces the commitment to diversity and depth heard during our weekday mix, only with a completely different set of artists and styles.
 
Dubatomic Particles - Venturing from foundation to 21st Century reggae and dub with your record-collecting selectors, and occasional guest hosts.
 
Celtic Winds - Celtic Winds is one of the signature programs produced weekly at WNCW.  From popular and emerging artists, to classic recordings gleaned from our large library, there is sure to be something different every week.  Celtic music is an integral part of the musical heartland of Western North Carolina where WNCW is located, but it exploded onto the world stage during the revival of the last century, and is now recognized as a dominant force in the international music scene.
 
Cosmic American Music Show - On the Cosmic American Music Show, host Brad Watson honors Parson's legacy and focuses on artists who have dipped into the rich well of rock, country, old-time and bluegrass to create their own brand of new and original music. From Gram and The Byrds to Whiskeytown, from The Band to Uncle Tupelo, from Merle Haggard to Gillian Welch, each week The Cosmic American Music Show covers the best in Alt-Country and Americana music.
 
Country Gold - Tom Pittman hosts this show featuring the classic period of country music, from the end of WWII until the mid 1970's.  You'll hear lots of Hank Williams, Faron Young, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, the Louisiana Hayride and much more.  In the 11AM hour Tom spins the songs that were in the top ten on the Billboard charts on that day in a featured year gone by.  The last set turns to current artists that carry on the tradition of the founders of country music.
 
Dead Air - Dead Air celebrates The Grateful Dead and the music and culture that the band has inspired since their formation in 1965.  Before Dead Air began, WNCW had only one hour of Grateful Dead oriented programming per week, with the Grateful Dead Hour, hosted by David Gans.  Tune in for four hours of Dead Air every Wednesday Night starting at 9 p.m. Dead Air: "It's Music-for-Long-Attention Spans."
 
Frank On Friday - WNCW spotlights the master of the avant-garde by exploring the musical diversity of Frank Zappa.
 
Goin' Across The Mountain - Goin' Across The Mountain is eight hours of the best in Contemporary/Traditional and Historical Bluegrass Music on The Flagship Bluegrass Station, WNCW-FM in Spindale, NC.
 
Jazz And Beyond - From the early syncopation of Scott Joplin, to the bebop challenges of Dizzy and Bird, to the melancholy musings of Miles, the joy of Ella, and the intergalactic journeys of Sun Ra -- the music we call jazz has covered a lot of cultural territory.  The conversation has lasted 100 years, and it keeps getting richer.  Your voice is a part of it, on Jazz and Beyond.
 
Local Color - Local Color spotlights emerging artists from all over our listening area, with a focus on those who are pushing the envelope just a bit. Live performances, official releases, demos, and exclusive in-studio performances will all add to "Local Color."
 
Mountain Mornings - Join Corrie Askew 6-7AM on Sunday through Friday mornings for an hour of bluegrass, old-time and acoustic music. You'll hear artists from our Appalachian region, such as Dirk Powell, Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, and many others. Monday mornings keep you up-to-date with new releases, and Fridays feature classic old-time and bluegrass.
